Civil Engineers

What do civil engineers do?

Laying the foundations for a road

Civil engineering is all around us! It is the everyday infrastructure that we all take for granted. Just think about our roads, bridges, drainage, water and power supplies…civil engineers have had a hand in all these. r understanding of civil engineering services and working environments means clients can achieve the best possible results for their residential and commercial developments.

Consulting engineers

Our experienced team of civil engineers provide a wide range of civil engineering services to support the work of architects, contractors, developers, organisations and private clients. We are always happy to join a team to make a project become a reality.

Civil engineering services in detail

  • Flood barrier

    Flood risk assessments

A flood risk assessment or FRA is required for developments and projects of all sizes. They can be carried out on sites that have already been flooded or where you may wish to understand the potential risks. These are often required for planning applications within designated drainage zones or critical drainage areas. An FRA details the sources and implications of flooding including future projections, and any mitigating solutions that are required. Flooding sources can include ground and surface water, sewers and drains, nearby watercourses and the sea, burst mains, canals and reservoirs.

  • Roller flattening road

    Highways design

We can also help with highway designs, such as private drives or roads on developments, including vehicle swept paths and traffic management plans to ensure people and their transport can access and travel with ease to, from and within completed project sites.

  • Drainage report on laptop screen

Drainage surveys and sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS)

Drainage designs, including foul and surface water, are a key part of our civil engineering work. These designs, and crucially, strategic plans, layouts and statements for planning purposes may be the last thing on your mind when designing new or extended schemes, but they are key to any project’s success.

Residential civil engineering services

We support our residential clients with our civil engineering solutions. These may not be the more exciting element of a project; after all, who thinks about drainage or sewerage when they are considering building a new home or an extension? Well, us!

These considerations are critical to making sure your design requirements can be delivered without a hitch. We will work closely with the design team and other third parties to recommend the appropriate solution, whether attenuated discharge, designed soakaways, treatment plant siting and drainage field designs to bring your project to fruition.

Commercial civil engineering services

Our civil engineers work on commercial projects too. We can appraise your site and make sure it is feasible for your project before you make a start.
